Mark Hardy

I have always enjoyed helping people get the best out of life, whether in the classroom or less formal settings such as youth work and outdoor education.

A desire to put more into life led me to a second career as a teacher over 20 years ago. Much of that time has been spent teaching in Leicestershire secondary schools. Initially in Design Technology and rapidly moving to ICT and Computing. I firmly believe that everyone should have the right digital skills to function in today’s world whatever their chosen path is, from office work to robotics. Alongside teaching I have spent time working as an Assistant Head responsible for pastoral care, where I really started to appreciate that one size really does not fit all in education.

The personalised approaches to student progress used at Discovery attracted me to the school. This approach should help our students progress their digital skills to help them achieve their true potential.
