Chris Harlan Marks

My role at Discovery Academy is Assistant Principal for Wellbeing and Families. 

Developing the Family Footings programme at Discovery Academy in our first year was an incredible experience for me and I felt truly touched by the way our pupils and their family members welcomed me into their homes and shared their stories, worries and hopes for the future.

I am passionate about supporting pupils to grow in their understanding of their own strengths and needs, empowering parents to recognise the expertise they have in their own children and creating a culture at Discovery Academy where all members of our school community work together every day to make the academy the best place it can be. I do this by managing our Family Footings team, working with the outside professionals supporting our pupils and supporting individual pupils and families with problem-solving, reflection and planning for the future.
